Brett Larson runs Evergreen Automation NW out of Hayden, Idaho. Before robot mowers, he spent years doing hydroseeding and lawn installs across North Idaho — the kind of hands-on work that teaches you what actually breaks on a lawn and what doesn't.
He bet on robotic mowing because the technology finally got good enough for Pacific Northwest lawns — wire-free, GPS-guided, smart enough to navigate around the trees and slopes that wreck a Husqvarna-era robot. And because the warranty model that makes online direct-buy cheap is also what makes it miserable when something goes wrong.

What people actually ask before they buy.
For most yards in our region — yes. The mower runs daily from late April through October, handles our typical lot sizes, and the seasonal cycle is exactly what robotic mowing is built for. Where it doesn't fit: heavily wooded yards with constant pine-needle and cone drop, or properties with major un-fenced wildlife traffic. We'll tell you on the consult.
Depends on the machine. The Navimow X-series and i2 AWD handle slopes up to about 45% — that covers almost every residential lot from Hayden to Sandpoint. If your yard is steeper or has serious terrain variation, the Kress RTKn or Voyager platform takes it from there.
Roughly $2,000 to $7,500 installed, depending on lawn size, terrain, and which brand makes sense. The compact Navimow H-series for an in-town lawn lands at the bottom of that range; a Kress RTKn install for a full acre with slope sits at the top. We give you a specific price during the consult — no obligation.
Navimow if you want wire-free convenience and don't need to push the edge cases — most residential customers. Kress if accuracy matters (RTKn is sub-centimeter), if the property is complex, or if you want commercial-grade durability. We carry both for a reason.
Yes. The X3, X4, and i2 AWD all handle one-acre residential lots without breaking a sweat. If you're past an acre or have multiple disconnected zones, we'll usually put you on a Kress.
Real talk: heavy pine-needle drop is the one PNW condition where robotic mowing struggles. The mower will still cut, but you'll be raking or blowing more than someone with a wide-open lawn. We'll flag it during the consult and tell you whether it's a deal-breaker.
