Robotic mower installation across Athol neighborhoods
Most of our Athol installs are on rural-residential parcels between one and four acres. Which Navimow fits an Athol yard?
For Athol, the answer is usually Kress, with Navimow X4 as the exception rather than the rule. The Kress RTKn system is built for properties this size and this complexity — it handles larger mowable areas, copes with mixed terrain, and the zone management scales to multi-area yards where a Navimow would be working at its limits.
That said, we still install Navimow X4 AWD on the Athol properties where the mowable turf is concentrated and the rest is fenced off. The X4 covers up to about an acre cleanly and handles the slopes most Athol yards present. We work through that decision tree at the consult — there's no point quoting a Kress on a property where an X4 would serve you fine, and there's no point quoting an X4 on a property that's going to fight it.

Athol is about 25 minutes from our shop. The drive isn't the issue — the install complexity is. Athol installs are usually full-day jobs because of property size, multiple antennas, and zone mapping. We schedule them as such rather than pretending they're a quick stop. Once installed, service calls work the same way: we're back through the area regularly, and a follow-up visit isn't a scheduling problem.

The Athol climate runs cooler than Coeur d'Alene — frosts come earlier in fall and later in spring, and the wooded parcels stay damp into May. The Kress and Navimow X-series we install in Athol handle the wet-ground traction fine, but we'll often set a slightly higher cut height to keep the mower honest in early-season conditions. Pine and fir drop is heavier here than most of our service area, and we'll talk through that during the consult — the mower handles light drop, but a heavy fall still wants a manual blow-down before the unit goes into winter storage. We pick up and store for Athol customers who don't want the mower in their shop over winter.
